Need a Work Permit?
High school students who are under the age of 18 need a work permit if they have a job. Work Permits are issued through the District Office which is open year-round. For information on hours and to download a Work Permit Application, go the the district website at www.fuhsd.org.
The work permit is for your protection and safety. It ensures that employers carry worker compensation insurance. It reminds employers that a student's first job is school and a paid job is secondary. Also that student are not allowed to do work or use equipment that is potentially dangerous. On the form besides your signature, you will need those of your parents and of your employer
