Monta Vista is made even greater with the generous support of our Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA). Common Core Info
What is the Common Core? What does it mean for day-to-day teaching and learning? Whether you are a teacher, parent, or student, you may want to visit the FUHSD Common Core Info Page to learn more about the Common Core State Standards.
Blue Ribbon School
Monta Vista has been named a National Blue Ribbon School. Only three high schools in the state of California were awarded this honor in 2014. To learn more about the program, follow this link to the US Department of Education website, view the List of Selected Schools, or see the Blue Ribbon Info Page.

Back to School Night
Parents, please join us on Tuesday, August 29th for Back to School Night (students can stay home this evening). Folders will be distributed in the rally court beginning at 6:30 pm. Parents should bring their student's schedule with them! Classroom visits will begin at 7 PM and end before 9 PM; each class is 10 minutes long with a 5 minute passing period in between, and an extended period during one "class" for announcements / voting. The PTSA and Foundation will be having an “open house” in the cafeteria where staff and parents can drop in to meet-and-greet, and grab a cookie and a bottle of water.
Looking for a Locker?
Lockers are assigned to students during the first weeks of school. It is the student’s responsibility to provide a lock and to maintain a clean locker area. Monta vista HS is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Since the lockers are located outside of secured areas, items left overnight and on weekends may be subject to theft or vandalism. Lockers may be subject to search by school personnel. Students who do not follow the process of applying for a locker will lose their locker privileges; locks will be cut and contents removed from lockers that are not officially assigned.

Please fill out the chalk school locker form and your locker will be assigned to you. If you have any questions please see Mrs. Mandac in the ASB office.
