Emily Rubin

Emily Rubin has a quiet killer instinct. She has a will to succeed and a fire to not be outdone. Off the field she enjoys her team, the girls, and the fun they have. On the field, she is focused and is not someone to mess with. She scored huge goals for her team. This year, she battled the goalie to score as she tied up our first league game in the last minute. In addition, she scored the first goal this year in CCS to get us started. She has great energy and does not mind mixing it up. When we needed a spark Emily was often the person who made a play or did something to get us going to the next level. Emily Rubin played Varsity volleyball this year and JV volleyball as a freshman and sophomore. She was a member of the track team and competed in both hurdles and the 4 x 40 meter relay. She has been a 4 year varsity starter and All- League soccer player every year. She has been a behind-the-scenes team leader throughout her career and was a huge factor in her team's success. Emily will continue to play soccer in college at Emory University once her knee is completely healed. She showed great character and leadership in the toughest of circumstances as she blew out her knee in our semi-final CCS game this year. She encouraged us on from the bench for the rest of that game and on crutches while watching the finals. To end her high school season with a torn ACL and meniscus injury, that subsequently required surgery and will require many more months of rehab, is something tough to deal with. She was a great motivator for the girls.

q On how being an athlete has helped her throughout life:
o "Athletics have helped me to stay physically and mentally sound. They have instilled a sense of competitiveness with myself in everything I do. Sports have also taught me about leadership, teamwork, and organization skills. Most of all, sports have bonded me with so many people throughout the years and that his the most significant."
