Laura Worsham is a natural leader and fierce competitor. As a two-meter defender, she led the league in defense and earned herself All-Central Coast Section and SCVAL 1st Team honors. As team captain, she motivated her teammates to train hard and play at their best. She led by example both in and out of the water. She has raised the bar for what it means to be a team captain for Monta Vista Girls Water Polo. Her hustle, eagerness to compete and willingness to do whatever it takes will be greatly missed. In the future, she will be successful at obtaining any life goal.

q On which coach inspired Laura the most:
o "Throughout water polo, we have faced the unique challenge of adjusting
to three different coaches, having two quit on us. For this reason, it is not
very difficult for me to choose the coach who has most inspired me. My most
recent coach, Coach Don Vierra, was able to bring our team up when we were uninspired.
Although he was still very concentrated on the physical, he focused on the mental
aspect of the game, which a coach had not done for us before. We always had
the ability to be successful and win, and Don gave us faith in our ability and
led us to follow through with our season goal of being league champions."
q Next year Laura will be attending Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and playing club
water polo.
