Alex Gatley

Alex Gatley is quite a story teller. Regularly when practice time was ready to begin or past time to begin I had to tell everyone to stop listening to Alex's stories and get started. She is the emotional leader as well. She puts her whole heart into what she does. She plays all out and is a leader by example. Everyone respects Alex. Alex was league MVP in volleyball. She was a second team All-SJ Mercury News team soccer player as well as a 1st Team SCVAL All-League player. She was a two-year team captain as well. Alex is both a well deserving player and person.

q On which coach has inspired her the most:
o "Jeff Morgan, my coach when I was first learning to play soccer, has inspired me the most. He taught me by example the importance of respecting the other players and the game. He also taught me that sports are there to benefit your life, so enjoy the time you have to play them."

q On how being an athlete has helped her:
o "Sports have shaped me as a person. That have taught me how to communicate with others, work with a team, strive for goals, work hard, and enjoy my time with friends."

q Alex has been awarded an Academic Merit Scholarship and will be attending Gonzaga University in the fall
