Mission Statement
This publication is not your average newsletter. It contains the words and emotions of many students on campus. It was not created solely to inform; it was created to express, to reflect, and to release. What teenagers go through in their day-to-day lives is much more than meets the eye and each one of the students at Monta Vista has his or her own story to tell.
Truth
We tell lies when we are afraid ... afraid of what we don't know, afraid of what others will think, afraid of what will be found out about us. But every time we tell a lie, the thing that we fear grows stronger.
                    Tad Williams
Verdadera
What is Verdadera?

Verdadera is a publication created by and for Monta Vista High School students for the purpose of instigating communication concerning the reality of high school within the community. Verdadera, meaning "true" in Spanish, is a bluntly honest publication dealing with issues that MVHS students face. It is comprised of real-life experiences submitted anonymously by MVHS students and alumni, professional advice on the issue, and resources compiled by the staff.

If you would like to learn more about Verdadera, including an archive of back issues, how to submit a sample of your writing, who to contact, and more, visit the Verdadera web site at http://verdadera.org/index.php.
